Curing Kids Cancer (www.curingkidscancer.org), a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, has joined film distribution company, World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) in a nationwide effort to raise awareness for childhood cancers through the award-winning feature film, WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER (www.waystoliveforevermovie.com).

Slated for release in select theaters throughout the US this summer, the inspirational picture is based on the acclaimed children’s novel by British author Sally Nicholls. In it, a spunky 12-year-old leukemia patient named Sam and his best friend from the hospital, Felix, achieve their dreams, learn to appreciate family, friends, and the oddities of life, and leave viewers both uplifted and inspired. A portion of the box office proceeds will benefit Curing Kids Cancer, as well as other prestigious cancer-related organizations and foundations that have teamed up with World Wide to support both the picture and its important message.

“We are very excited to be associated with the movie, WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER, as it gives an insightful look into what it is like for both children battling cancer and the families experiencing their journey,” says Grainne Owen, founder of Curing Kids Cancer. “It is joyful, hopeful, and certainly touches the heart of anyone who sees it.”

WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER stars critically acclaimed actors Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line; The Truth About Cats & Dogs), Greta Scacchi (The Player; Emma), Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Emilia Fox (Pride And Prejudice – BBC), and Ella Purnell (Intruders; Never Let Me Go). The growing list of international awards includes Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Heartland Film Festival Audience Award, and the Jury Prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. In anticipation of the film’s North American theatrical release, nationally renowned book publisher Scholastic has just released an enhanced eBook version of the best-selling novel on which the film is based (available from both Scholastic and major bookstores).

“We’re proud to be working with Curing Kids Cancer and their network of donors, volunteers, teachers, coaches, players and other friends of the charity and to welcome them to our growing team of supporters,” offers Paul D. Hancock, President and CEO of World Wide. “It’s unique programs are really making a difference through their efforts to fund pediatric cancer research.”

Curing Kids Cancer focuses on funding the most promising pediatric cancer research. Funds are raised through programs such as Coaches Curing Kids Cancer, Teachers Curing Kids Cancer, Players Curing Kids Cancer and others in addition to various fundraising events throughout the year. As pediatric cancer research is severely underfunded, the money raised by organizations like Curing Kids Cancer is crucially important. With it, research is being furthered and children’s lives are truly being saved!
