Los Angeles, CA, October 28, 2013 –(PR.com)– World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (World Wide) is pleased to announce its association with MyLifeline.org (MyLifeline), in a campaign designed to raise awareness of pediatric cancers via World Wide’s national release of the award-winning feature film, Ways To Live Forever (www.waystoliveforevermovie.com). MyLifeline is spreading the word about the movie, which has been gaining enthusiastic audience response across the US and will continue its theatrical run on December 6 in a number of additional cities, including Denver. Based on the popular children’s novel by British author Sally Nicholls, a spunky 12-year-old leukemia patient named Sam and his best friend Felix set out to achieve their dreams and in the process learn to appreciate family, friends, and the oddities of life, leaving viewers both uplifted and inspired. A portion of the box office proceeds will benefit MyLifeline.org, as well as other prestigious cancer-related organizations and foundations.
“Easing the burden of communicating with a patient’s support community can increase the quality of life by opening the channel to receive love and encouragement while getting the patient and caregiver the logistical help necessary to make it from active treatment to survivorship,” said Melissa Bowen, Executive Director of MyLifeline.
Ways To Live Forever stars critically acclaimed actors Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line, The Truth About Cats & Dogs), Greta Scacchi (The Player, Emma), Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and currently ABC’s popular adventure drama, “Once Upon a Time”), Alex Etel (The Water Horse), Emilia Fox (Pride And Prejudice), and Ella Purnell (Kick-Ass 2, Intruders). The growing list of international awards includes Best Feature Film from the European Children’s Film Association, Best Picture at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema, the Audience Award at the Heartland Film Festival, and the Adult Jury Prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. Nationally-renowned book publisher Scholastic has issued Nicholls’ best-selling novel as an enhanced eBook and is re-releasing the paperback version to coincide with the North American release of the film.
“We’re very proud to be working with MyLifeline and support their mission to provide a seamless communication platform for cancer patients and their families and friends,” states Paul Hancock, President and CEO of World Wide. “The film itself promotes these ideals of the importance of a support network, time spent with friends, and continuing to live as full a life as one can throughout the process. MyLifeline uses technology to help patients achieve these goals.”
MyLifeline.org Cancer Foundation, founded in 2007, provides free personal websites to patients and their caregivers so they can easily communicate with their friends and family during their treatment process and beyond. As people are overwhelmed with emails, phone calls, text messages, and more, MyLifeLine.org is the only personal website service that consolidates all caregiving needs in one place, while focusing 100% on cancer and the tools necessary to navigate the treatment process.
